Industrial Designer / Technical Writer
My Role:

Design Responsibilities:

• Brainstorm ideas and create models either by sketching or using SolidWorks to visually depict design ideas.

• Rapidly create prototypes using 3D printing or conventional means.

• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and manufacturers to translate design concepts into engineering and manufacturing documentation.

• Support Marketing with necessary materials for product launches.

Technical Writing Responsibilities:

• Write technical instructions for products.

• Understand how products work and how they are installed.

• Storyboard instructions for review and approval by Product Manager.

• Work with Marketing to develop the instructions format.

    –Format will be universal for all products.
   –Create bilingual (Spanish and French).

• Create online short video versions of instructions.

    –Animated
   –HD video

• Work with Marketing team to incorporate instructions on printed packaging.

• File and maintain instructions in a database.

    –Keep instructions up to date and track revisions.
